Growing up in an Upper-Middle class background, I had big dreams of becoming a tennis star during my school days. Tennis was my true passion, and I worked hard to teach myself the game since there were few coaches around. I got pretty good, played in some tournaments, and even won against tougher opponents. But I couldn't reach my full potential due to a lack of resources and support from my family, which always bothered me.
Later, as I got involved in sports through my part-time project, GetSporty, I began to understand why my parents didn't back my sports dream. Back in the 80s and 90s, options for careers were limited to fields like Engineering, Medicine, and Civil Services. Sports seemed uncertain and unclear as a career path, which is why parents often pushed their kids toward traditional choices. This guidance led me to become an Engineer myself.
This realisation prompted me to start Xdrona, where we want to make a positive impact. We're starting with football, but our bigger goal is to cover all sports. We aim to make the path to a career in sports much clearer and easier to understand. Our mission is to remove the confusion around how to become a professional athlete and create more opportunities. By doing this, we hope to change the way people think about building a successful life through sports.
